The Robber Baron Open House is Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and we hope you can attend! Even though advance reservations are now full, they are NOT required to take the regular self-guided tour to explore portions of the cave on your own. Just show up when convenient, sign in, get a number and when your number is called, your party can get their gear and go in. While you are waiting, there will be booths to visit with information from the Edwards Aquifer Authority, Bat Conservation International, San Antonio Master Naturalists, and others. Also, there will be a food truck from Cheezy Jane’s during lunchtime. As always, sturdy shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty are highly recommended. Admission is free, but a $5/person donation is requested to support the cave. So, come and check out a wild cave right in the heart of San Antonio!
The next Robber Baron Open House is scheduled for Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 9am to 3pm. This special event only occurs once every 18 months, so don’t miss this rare opportunity!
The Open House is open to the public. It is free, although we do appreciate donations to help maintain the preserve. We will also have the famous Robber Baron Cave Map t-shirts for sale, and we will have a photographer to take your group photos in the cave with printed photos available on surface when you exit.
Note that this is a “wild cave”. There are no sidewalks or handrails, and you might get a little muddy. We recommend you wear jeans, an old t-shirt, and sneakers or boots.
This year there are three options for touring the cave:
Sign ups for the self-guided and guided tours will be available on the TCMA website starting on October 10.
