Dahlstrom Cave Preserve

Dahlstrom Cave Preserve

Preserve Manager: Jon Pixler

Dahlstrom Ranch Cave was formally owned by Texas caving legend William (Bill) Russell, who bequeathed it to TCMA to determine how to best utilize it to meet the needs of the Texas caving community.

The cave is a significant recharge feature and drains a large area of an established subdivision, and apparently takes in large amounts of water during intense precipitation events. It is mostly vertical with a series of small drops and climb downs to rooms and crawl ways, and it has a narrow horizontal passage that appears to be the main drain for the cave.
